  1. Cristiano Ronaldo Joins Al Nassr (30th December, 2022)(Sports): Former Manchester United Player Cristiano Ronaldo has joined Al Nassr, signing a 75 million dollars per year deal with his contract ending in 2024.

  2. Obasanjo endorses Peter Obi for Presidency (1st January, 2023)(Politics): Former president of Nigeria, General Olusegun Obasanjo, has endorsed Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra state and presidential candidate for the Labour Party, as his preferred candidate for the Nigerian presidential elections holding in February 2023.

  3. Malawi suspends school reopening over cholera outbreak (2nd January, 2023)(Education): Government authorities in Malawi have suspended the opening of primary and secondary schools for at least 2 weeks in 2 major cities since the Christmas holidays following the outbreak of Cholera in the country which has killed 595 people.

  4. Sam Bankman-Fried pleads Not Guilty (3rd January, 2023)(Tech): Sam Bankman-Fried, founder of the now bankrupt crypto exchange platform FTX, charged with two counts of wire fraud and six counts of conspiracy related charges, has pleaded Not Guilty to the charges.

  5. Six-year-old boy shoots teacher in the US (7th January, 2023)(Crime): A six-year-old male student of an elementary school in Virginia, United States opened fire in the classroom and struck a teacher. No other students were hit in the incident but the boy is now in police custody and the teacher with life-threatening injuries.
