Logo Design for Dessk

By Encer, a division of Oyemaja

Dessk is a software company in the United States that allows users convert their social media pages into websites. To create the logo design for desk, we interviewed our client on the operations and dynamics of their innovative software, how it works, and even its limitations and shortcomings. What stood out particularly is that the company attempts to make the experience of social media users more convenient by providing tools that integrate several platforms into one suite. Small business owners, desirous of owning websites but are unable to afford one, now have that problem taken away with dessk. With dessk, your Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter page can be converted into a website for free with a few clicks.

The logo for dessk is an interconnection between various levels of experience of users. Primarily, it depicts parallel stacks to represent platforms (in this case, social media apps/platforms and websites). These platforms are stacked closely but not in a straight line against each other. The extraction of the ensuing interconnection forms the mark of dessk.

The color scheme is a mix of purple and orange colors. Because a lot of social media platforms use primary colors (e.g WhatsApp - Green, Twitter - Blue, SnapChat - Yellow, YouTube - Red), secondary colors which are a mix of primary colors were selected in a gradient such that users can feel the presence of their most loved apps represented in dessk.

A classy and modern font was selected - SK-Modernist to give the logo a gentle feel. This simple typeface is to ensure unison amongst the apps of various social media platforms.
